Mt. Binacayan
Are you one of the travel enthusiasts who wants to experience mountain climbing? Pack your things up and explore Mt. Binacayan; a close proximity in Metro Manila.
This mountain is one of the most hiked mountains and recommended for the beginners. It is well known for its limestone karst and majestic scenery of Sierra Madre. Though, they may be considered Mt. Binacayan as minor climb, but their trails consisted of limestone formations that will certainly make you sweat.Gloves is needed for you to be able to hold the rocks easily during the climb.
You can chase the sea of clouds in the summit as early as 4:30am to start the trek. Small cave is also waiting for you on top of the mountain. You can rest there and eat your packed lunch or take some photos.

According to Philippine Mythology, Bernardo Carpio was trapped between two great rocks of Montalban, Mt. Pamitinan and Mt. Binacayan. He used his strength to separate the said mountains from crashing each other. Then, the wawa river was created.
What really amazed me is, all tour guides are required to familiarised themselves in photography and the usage of gadgets and DSLR cameras. So, worry no more for your Instagram photos as they got you!
If time permits, you might want to consider Wawa Dam on your itinerary for your side trip. Cottage fee is Php200 |
